Southeast Asia Destinations

Thailand
Rapidly developing services and infrastructure but still affordable compared to Western countries. From Chiang Mai to Phuket, Koh Samui to Pattaya, there is an environment to suit any budget and desire.

Malaysia
Very Expat Retiree friendly, with British based legal and institutional framework that is easier to navigate than other SE Asian destinations. More affordable then Singapore and not as regimented.

Indonesia
The most diverse and stimulating country in SE Asia. 275 million people of many ethnic groups. 20+ cities of over 2 million people, with Jakarta and Bali being the most popular. Internal travel is very reasonable, destinations are diverse, and the food is AMAZING. Over 17000+ islands comprise this vibrant and exciting country.

Philippines
The most Western influenced country in SE Asia, due to the strong American influence during the last century. Most Filipino can speak exceptionally good or at least, understandable English. Over 7000 Islands to explore, including Palawan, Cebu, Mindanao and of course Luzon, where the capital city of Manila is located. Reasonable and affordable health care

Cambodia
The Kingdom of Cambodia is to the East of Thailand. Suffered a decades-long civil war until the turn of the century, this small and welcoming destination is affordable and comfortable for those on a budget and looking for value packed advantages. Improving infrastructure and facilities will make this a desired destination in the near to mid-term future.

Vietnam
The Socialist Republic of Vietnam is part of the former French Colonial country of Indochina in South East Asia. The French influence is prevalent, but mostly in the North of Vietnam. Cuisine is delicious and varied, as are the people and culture.
Reasons to Move

Food
The variety, spiciness and healthiness of most South East Asian gourmet makes every day an adventure of the senses. Lots of vegetables and fruits, cooked in a healthy way that keeps the goodness in the meal rather than over processed GMO gunk that we are used to in Western Countries.

Safety
Personal safety is of paramount importance to us. Every member to the program will feel safe and secure in their resort complex. South East Asian folks are usually very friendly, patient and naturally kind, especially to the Elderly. Respect for the elder members of the community is entrenched in the culture and will be enhanced if you integrate and interact with the local people. Try and learn some of the language and share a skill with the locals, something that will enrich their lives. It’s rewarding !

Affordability
It is no secret that cost of living in Developing Nations in South East Asian nations is much less than developed Western countries. The reduction of stress and pressure that this brings is immeasurable. It also makes that Nasi Goreng with chicken or beef taste that much better or the sauce on the Chicken Adobo hit the right spot. After 25+ years travelling and living in Asia I can honestly say, except for top end luxury items, EVERYTHING is significantly cheaper yet of a reasonable or excellent quality. In addition, you can hire a cleaner or nurse or companion for a fraction of the cost you would pay in the West.

Feeling disconnected, vulnerable and isolated in your home town, in your home country? From experience I can tell you, when you move to a new environment and feel comfortable with your surroundings, you immediately feel younger, lighter and more alive. You take interest in those around you and enjoy seeing smiling and friendly faces on those you meet and interact with. People in developing countries often have it tough. Sickness, poverty, low education, natural disasters all have an effect on the local population. But guess what? They pick themselves up, straighten their back and work their way through the issue. Locals usually have a sunny disposition and are ready to have a dance, a drink and a feed at any opportunity. They take each day as it comes and do not feel sorry for themselves. Be a part of the community and give some of yourself, not your money but your experience, knowledge and skills and you will feel a sense of reward and achievement rarely felt in a ‘rich’ country.
Cost of living / Inflation / Value for money in most Western countries has become almost unlivable. In Australia in most capital cities houses are over a MILLION AUD, rents are above $800 a week for a semi decent house. UK is even worse, USA is expecting interest rates above 7% soon. Heating costs are going up by multiples and elderly folks have to choose between staying warm and eating. I honestly think it is going to get worse over time. Isn’t it time to get out?
A typical day at our resort. 7am, get up and go for a walk and exercise around the grounds, along the beach , splashing through the warm waters. 9am, breakfast with fruits and exotic dishes. 11am golf or shopping trip, sightseeing at a local venue or just spending time with friends in the resort or new friends in the local community. 4pm Meal provided as part of the package. Ikan Asin Manis, or Cap Cay. Cooked to perfection and healthy. Grow your own vegetables, fruit or whatever. Breath in the fresh air and feel the warm sun on your skin. LIVE AGAIN!
